Cover design for "Green World Magazine", the final print issue.

After the project "Global Warming: Everything we do can change the world". We have many chances to work with Green World Foundation, Thailand. Especially, the cover design for Green World Magazine, the most renowned ecology magazine in Thailand. This mag was launched in March 1991 and surly, they are only one magazine that focus on deep and radical ecology for the environmentally-conscious. Many fans who follow this bi-monthly magazine understand their mission as well.

17 years later, the foundation committee decided to stop the magazine print version. They will continue only in their website. (www.greenworld.or.th). All images above are our sketch design for the last issue in print. The first one is the chosen layout for Green World magazine cover issue 100. Inside the final issue, they capture an environmental issue in Rayong, fully-industrial province in the eastern of Thailand. Our idea so very simple. Make an illustration from many free icon and pictogram. As you can see every layouts, they are many stories focus on environmental issue between people and industrial world. Don't bias from any information. What we was trying to say is .... farewell party to the 17th anniversary of deeply ecological magazine. Hopefully, we'll see you again someday in our life.

Thailand Graduate Fashion Week 2008

We designed all visual direction for the first time of "Thailand Graduated Fashion Week" produced by AV Project and Contango in the mid year of 2008. No need to present same as the typical fashion event. No need model with or collection's images. The funniest thing behind the process of work is the way we tried to convince client accept this untypical idea. Just one graphic image created from blooming flower. All items such as t-shirt, toe, tickets & event catalogue follow the blooming flower graphic image.

Degree Shows Annual Cover design

What is Degree Shows? The first 6 months of the year is the time when senior design students from all over Thailand bring their final year design projects to exhibit in their universities as well as in public. Presented in these annual books are the Degree Shows that collect final design projects created by the cream of 2006 and 2007 design students. We set up all the design direction for those events. For the annual book, we carry on only cover design. The first time of Degree Shows (2007), we used Unica typeface with italic style. Set up the colour scheme in Dark green and Black. For the next year (2008), we choose Chocolate typeface with Bold & Light weight. And colour scheme in dark purple and brightness pink. How about this year (2009)?

Mokka- the old fashioned cafe & restaurant identity.

Mokka, the first project we work together. Working with the owner from the starting point was pretty good. We discuss with him from the cafe's name to the restaurant character. Finally, he choose the "Mokka" for his first restaurant. (We totally forgot why he choose this name). Finally, we followed from the shop slogan, the old fashioned cafe & restaurant. That's why we choose many ornaments from the art-nouveau style. ANd set up only black colour for all items, such as cafe logo, business card, light box, cafe sign. Unfortunately, the shop owner canceled our graphic for interior because he didn't have enough money. You can check it out why Mokka different with another restaurant. Yes, it's not because our graphic works, it's because their recipe!

In condition with small budget & low quality image. That's why we changed those puzzles to only one colour and set them back behind the Thai logotype. First published in 2005, and sold out now.

This is our first Bookcase .... our first furniture design. We already designed in 2002 based on the idea following our variety book formats. Solid white lacquered MDF slatted shelving unit with 6 fixed shelves with finger join detail. Designed to hold many kinds of publishing. From large format magazine such as art4d or ver magazine to medium format like The Face, i-D OPEN or Summer magazine. The smallest shelve unit designed for manga series / pocket book like penguin paperback and typical DVD format. For now... display storage becomes the heart of our room.

Sometimes we love to do a small budget project. This book published in only one colour. So our concept is design layout like a carbon copy paper. We choose images from desktop stationery objects. Combine with Thai wording and of course, we love to play with number from the editorial contents as well.

They asked us to change an overall direction from traditional and conservative style to fresh / artistic / provocative / a bit fashionable / and of course, people must recognize about Singha brand when they saw our new design. Finally, client rejected our design because they think it's not recognize Singha ... and it's look like a .... british council print media ...

Green Packaging Exhibition - The logotype design process.

Logotype for "Green Packaging", a traveling exhibition curated by Material Connexion Bangkok. This exhibition contains an information about the packaging that is pretty much linked to consumption and waste. The more people consume, the more packaging they use, the more waste we have. We worked with all(zone), a group of happy design professionals who joyfully collaborate with other specialists across the borders of their fields and country. Working with all(zone) throughout the process was great fun, since we always had interesting discussions, exchanging ideas, alternating design and so on. Very exciting indeed.
For this exhibition, we carry on visual and information design. For this part, we work with "The God Net", the greatest young graphic designer of this time. And here is the process of work on exhibition logotype.
The logotype idea is very simple, think about consumer products on the shelf. We create a Logotype that can move and change in many directions. The logotype system based on the order processing. And of course, we follow the exhibition design that create like in a supermarket where you are overwhelmed by all the products with different labels and packaging.

zense of joy Silom

For the the third branch of Zense of Joy spa, we developed the graphic direction with the client and In-Side-Out Architect & Interior studio. Because the location of this branch, Silom is the central business district of Bangkok and also this is the best location for metro-sexual guys. The spa target is totally different from another branches. That's why we thought a new look of spa. We ended up with Art & Fashion Spa concept.
For this branches, we involved all process. For instance, the new service, the room's titled, the copy-writing. The room titled created from the type of treatment service. All visual in treatment room inspired by a room titled. We designed graphic panel for all 11 rooms. We already posted the image in Moon Dance, Star Dust Promise, Granite Silence and Amber Melt.
And same as we did before, we did all graphic for this project. Signage, window display graphic, directory graphic and this is our first time for carpet design.

For completely work station, we already designed the first desk follow The Library Bookcase. Based on our behavior & ergonomics. A1+A2 desk made from white melamine particle board structure with solid plywood legs. The desk has 2 drawers, the left hand side for file storage in A1(84 x 60 cm) , the right hand side for A2 (42 x 60 cm). Because we work with laptop and focus on print material in variety formats, when we design this desk we want to work on compact desk with an extending work surface and large format paper storage.

This is not the first time we design furniture. The Library Bookcase was designed by us in the first month of 2008, using the layout grids of swiss graphic designer. We tried to do an inexpensive bookcase look simple. The bookcase's proportion based on our many kind of books & magazines.

What we love to do for this project is a new way of seeing and understanding the global warming problem with the pretty good colleague from Green World Foundation Thailand. Written by Thinant Sristhita, edited by Tang moonchinda. It's like a feeling of making manga that we known from Bakuman (japanese manga series about high-school mangakas!) Thinant gave us a named (like a story-board) then we created an illustration. We can change everything they want for fit the lay-out. This is the great experience for us.

Beyond is a private residential located in Phangnga, southern of thailand (15 mins from Phuket airport). The brief asked us to design and develop corporate graphic for this place. For example, logotype & stationery, household & guests accessories signage & address number, made-to-order graphic print on wallpaper, made-to-order graphic illustrate on canvas. Inspired by 2 owners character ... fitness center owner & super model ... as you can see from images above, we worked on graphic on the wallpaper in the game room, bowling lane 's wall, gym room, spa and stream room... we enjoyed to do this project so much ! and thank you for Nui Manisa L., all your works look gorgeous !!

It was one of the most exciting works in my life.
Exhibition design for the annual exposition of The Association of Siamese Architects (ASA) in 2004. We won the competitions for exhibitions. (We ( i, rachaporn choochuay and narong othavorn ) call ourself - Superlover -
Some years ago before weloveveryday was set up, i worked as a group called 'superlover' . Of course, we love the name so much. Unfortunately, many people misunderstood our business - they would ask if we make movies, magazine for adults. However, we love the concept of being 'superlover' because we love a lot...

Anyhow, back to this project we called " Love is in the Air" ... we collaborated with Tanakul Design Group (super exhibition contractor in Thailand) to make a pitch for the work. And we got it :) The idea is how to fill a gigantic space of Impact Exhibition Hall 3,500 sq.m. of 21 m. high with the minimum materials. Inflatable structure & translucent display panels ( we used simple plastic cups which could be refund after use to be) were our answers. This way of doing inflatable structure was actually initiate by CICCIO group of Interaction Design Institute Ivrea (www.interaction-ivrea.it).

The space between people working together is filled with conflict, friction, strife, exhilaration, delight, and vast creative potential. Process is more important than outcome.

ที่ตั้งใจไว้เลยก็คือ โลโก้ ตัวนี้จะไม่มีแบบตายตัว เปลี่ยนแปลงและเคลื่อนไหวไปได้เรื่อยๆ แล้วแต่การเอาไปใช้
ลูกศรที่เห็นเอามาจากลูกศรที่อยู่ในสัญลักษณ์ของเครื่องหมาย recycle มาแตกออกและเชื่อมกันใหม่ นอกจากใช้เป็นส่วนหนึ่งของโลโก้แล้ว ลูกศรพวกนี้เลยกลายเป็น visual หลักสำหรับสื่ออื่นอย่างพวกโปสเตอร์ เว็บไซต์และพวกเสื้อยืด แน่นอนว่าลูกศรที่โผล่ออกมาในแต่ละสื่อหน้าตาก็จะต่างกันไปตามสมควร ความจริงแล้วในเว็บต้องการให้มันเลื่อนไปเลื่อนมามากกว่านี้ แต่เป็นที่ปัญหาทางเทคนิคและเวลา (ไม่ได้อ้่าง) ทำให้ออกมาหน้่าตาเป็นแบบที่เห็น

ปีนี้จะไม่เหมือนงานปีที่แล้ว ตรงที่มีหลายประเทศเข้ามาขอร่วมจัดงานด้วย
ที่รู้แน่ๆว่า น่าจะมากรุงเทพฯ ช่วงเดือนตุลาปีนี้ ก็คือ หน่วยงานด้านดีไซน์ของอินเดีย กับสิงคโปร์
print ad ที่ทำออกมา ก็ไม่มีอะไรมาก แค่ทำให้แบรนด์ติดตาผู้คนเข้าไปอีก..

ปกติไม่ค่อยมีงานกราฟิกสเกลใหญ่ขนาดนี้บ่อยเท่าไหร่ งานนี้คือการทำงานร่วมกับ In-Side Out สตูดิโออินทิเรียที่รับหน้าที่ออกแบบสเปซภายในทั้งหมดของ zense of joy spa สาขา Esplanade (อยู่ติดกับ California) เริ่มตั้งแต่รับบรีฟจากอินทีเรียที่อยากให้สปาที่นี่ให้ความรู้สึกเหมือนเข้ามาในแกลอรี่ของพี่จอย แน่นอนว่ายังไง พี่จอยก็คือจุดขายของที่นี่อยู่แล้ว ไล่ไปตั้งแต่ window display ขนาดใหญ่ด้านหน้าที่หาวิธีทำให้ออกมาแล้วดู relax ไล่ไปถึงกราฟิกภายในร้าน ที่ mood ทั้งหมดคือ ดึง element ของความเป็นสปาและเลือกดอกไม้แต่ละชนิดมาใช้แทนแต่ละห้อง ลืมบอกไปว่าสเปซของที่นี่ถูกซอยย่อยเป็นห้องๆ แต่ละห้องตั้งชื่อแตกต่างกันไป ตามฟังก์ชั่นการใช้งานของแต่ละห้อง นอกจากงานกราฟิกแต่ละห้องแล้ว งาน signage และ wayfinding ของทั้งหมดถูกออกแบบขึ้นมา ภายใต้คอนเซ็ปต์เดียวกันหมด อยากเห็นของจริง เชิญชมที่ zense of joy สาขา The Esplanade

ถึงคราว SAMSUNG เลือก designer มาออกแบบมือถือ คิดว่าเลือกไม่ผิดหรอกที่เอา Jasper Morrison มาออกแบบให้ SAMSUNG คงคาดหวังว่าจะเห็นมือถือแบบที่ Naoto, Tokujin หรือ Newson ทำให้กับ AU แน่ๆ แต่ไปๆมาๆ Morrison หักมุมด้วยมือถือหน้าตาแบบนี้แหละ เดาๆว่า คงอยากให้ออกมาดูแล้ว simple และ naive ที่สุด แต่พอดูของจริงก็บอกได้เลยว่า คนธรรมดาจะ get มุขนี้หรือเปล่าหว่า ราคาประมาณ 5,000 - 6,000 มี 2 สีใหเลือก ตัวเครื่องเล็กมาก และว้สดุจับแล้ว ไม่ซื้อแน่นอน ถึงกล้องจะ 3 ล้าน แถมถ่าย panorama ได้ แต่มันธรรมดาเกินไปเปล่า...

COLORS Notebook โปรเจ็คต์ของ COLORS กับ FABRICA
ที่เรื่มตั้งแต่ปีที่แล้ว แค่อีเมล์ไปขอ Notebook เปล่าๆ จาก COLORS
เสร็จแล้วก็เป็นหน้าที่ของเราที่จะทำหน้าที่ทั้ง editor - art director - graphic designer - photographer - writer - illustrator
เรียกว่าทำหน้าที่เป็นหมดทุกอย่างเลยสำหรับ COLORS ในแบบที่เราอยากให้เป็น
ผลก็คือ... นิทรรศการนี้แหละครับ ที่โชว์ Notebook จากที่ส่งกันมาทั่วโลก
ปีที่แล้วก็จัดแสดงที่ Centre Pompidou ปารีสมาแล้ว
ปีนี้ ก็จัดที่ Shanghai ตั้งแต่วันที่ 19 ตุลาคมจนถึง 11 พฤศจิกายน ปีนี้แหละ
และปีหน้าจะโยกไปโชว์ต่อที่โตเกียว

Your Helvetica: An Exhibition inspired by Helvetica

ภาพบางส่วนจาก Your Helvetica Exhibition เมื่อวันที่ 12 - 21 ตุลาคม 2550 ชั้น 1 หน้าร้าน Manga CentralWorld นิทรรศการนี้พ่วงมากับงาน Helvetica Film in Bangkok 50 ได้รับความร่วมมือจากแขกรับเชิญทุกๆท่านที่ส่งผลงานของตัวเองเข้ามา ภายใต้โจทย์ที่ให้คิดงานจาก Helvetica นี่แหละ ออกมาเป็นยังไงก็อย่างที่เห็น ไม่แน่อาจจะจัดเป็นนิทรรศการ roadshow ครับ และจะแจ้งให้ทราบอีกครั้ง

และขอแก้ข่าวหน่อยนะครับ รู้สึกว่า Enter Trend ที่แถมมากับ BIZWEEK ฉบับวันศุกร์ที่ 19 ตุลา จะเข้าใจผิดไปว่า นิทรรศการนี้เราเอามาจาก MoMA NewYork จริงๆแล้วไม่เกี่ยวกับงานที่ MoMA เลยครับ จัดกันเองในประเทศไทย งานที่นำมาแสดงส่วนมากก็ของคนไทยครับ ยังไงก็ขอบคุณนะครับที่ช่วย PR
